Panthers,
Steelers and Fans Receive Rabbinical Encouragement
Rabbi Yossi
Groner, director of Chabad-Lubavitch of the Carolinas, delivered an invocation
at a recent Carolina Panthers football game on Tuesday, September 13,
2011.
According
to Groner, who led the crowd in a prayer asking G-d to shield and protect
the players from both teams from injury, attendance was impressive for
the Panthers' last pre-season game at Bank of America Stadium. It was
their only scheduled home outing against the Pittsburgh Steelers this
season.
Groner,
who founded the Charlotte, N.C., Chabad House with his wife Mariashi Groner
30 years ago, included fans in his prayer.
"Teach
us to be quick as a panther and firm as steel when we fulfill your
desire in making this world a better place," said the rabbi. "Let
us be inspired today from our athletes in executing our mission in life,
with tenacity, teamwork and camaraderie."
